Easiest method would be to load the usb sticksd card inside adapter onto the pc create a folder named retropie now eject the usb drive and remove from the pc plug it into the rpi and boot the pi wait until the drive activity light stops blinking when a new usb drive is inserted with a retropie folder on it the rpi will automatically. Retropie will automatically copy the roms from your usb to the sd card. Plug your usb drive into your pc navigate to it with file explorer and open the retropie mount folder.
