Usb Drive Disconnects During File Transfer. When i try a large transfer backing up an itunes library to my external usb drive 120gb it hangs after the first few hundred mb and the drive appears to disconnect and reconnect. When i try to transfer large files over 1 gb in size the connection spontaneously drops during the transfer.
Suggestion in post containing i should mention that i made a great deal of progress august 7 2015. If i transfer large files via mtp 500mb windows stops mid transfer and gives an error that the device has disconnected. I have several external hard drives connected via usb 31 type c that continually disappear midway through moving or copying files to another drive.
This issue also affects seagate external drives.
