Serum Transfer Tube. Do not centrifuge or separate the lavender or grey top tubes. Transfer serum or plasma to an aliquot tube using a pipette leaving a small amount on top of the gel or packed cells.
Centrifuge for 15 minutes within 1 hour of collection. Centrifuge at 1500 2000 rpm for 15 minutes. Pipette the serum or plasma into a clean plastic screw cap vial and attach the label.
When frozen serum is required transfer the serum using a pipette into a plastic transport tube.
Different patient groups and collection techniques require different collection systems. Make sure to place your order for caps in the color you need when ordering tubes.
